#notmymarch

Saturday January 21 millions of feminist men, women, and children gathered in our nation’s capital of Washington, D.C, around the country, and around the world to march against what they think is an established elitist patriarchal system that will rescind their rights, restrict what they see as fundamental human rights, and kill off mother earth and the animal kingdom. Among these rights they march for are such things as reproductive rights, gay rights, religious freedom, women’s equality, racial justice, and so on and so forth. As a Christian woman I feel that there is a need to explain these issues from a biblical perspective, and each week I want to touch on these worldly fundamental human rights and give a biblical perspective on each.

Health Care & Reproductive Rights

Among the various reasons for the march this past Saturday it was obscenely evident that the fear of contraception and abortion rights being taken away was the principal cause. With the Republican controlled House and Senate, President Trump will have a slightly easier time getting legislation passed that will restrict or even do away with access to abortion. Though the liberal left and even those on the right who support abortion, or at least the woman’s right to choose, would have you believe that entities such as Planned Parenthood offer more than abortion on demand, this could not be further from the truth. Since the passing of Roe v. Wade in 1973 it is estimated, using information from the Guttmacher Institute, an arm of Planned Parenthood, 59,749,251.5 surgical abortions and 250 million chemically induced abortions have taken place in the U.S. alone and the number rises every second.

In the ancient times of the Ammonites they worshipped and sacrificed to a false deity named Moloch. He would be worshipped through orgies and sacrificing their living children by burning them alive. They created and worshipped these false gods in order to justify their sinfulness, especially their fleshly want of sexual pleasure (the orgies) and their lust for prosperity (riches and success). Does this sound familiar? It should. Success and sexual promiscuity are the two main reasons women want access to abortions today. They want to continue living sinful lifestyles of having sexual relations outside of the realm of marriage, and they want to chase after the never ending, unfulfilled beast that is success. They created a modern day Moloch out of their busy lifestyles and success, and they have set up abortion as their way of making a sacrifice to appease this false god. Modern day women see children as an unwanted hurdle to all they want in life.

Those who support abortion have tried and sometimes successfully made the argument that a fetus is only a clump of cells that does not become an actual human until it is birthed out of the mother’s womb. However, when we look at this from a scientific point of view life truly doesn’t just begin at conception, it continues through conception. Seeing that a fetus is developed from a zygote created when a sperm fertilizes an egg, both of which are cells, life scientifically continues at fertilization. This is because cells are living things.

So when two living beings mate and create living beings out of already living things, then there is no point at which life ends and then begins again. Conception is just the continuation of life. There is no point of nonlife. The only way life actually ends is death, and because death is permanent then life cannot be created from something dead. It must continue from something that is already living. Therefore, creation doesn’t stop one life and begin another; it continues life from one person to the next. So from this view you are not killing one living thing, but you are in fact killing millions of living things and are therefore, committing mass murder if you look at it from a scientific and biological scale.

From a biblical standpoint, the God who created the heavens and the earth creates every living being in His image male and female to “be fruitful and multiply” (Genesis 1:26-28; 2:4-7, 21-25) . We as humans are “fearfully and wonderfully made” and “fashioned” and “formed” in our mother’s wombs (Psalm 139:14; Job 31:15; Isaiah 44:2, 24; Isaiah 49:5). God knew who we are even before He formed us together in our mother’s wombs (Jeremiah 1:5). God created man and woman as opposite sexes with opposite sex organs in order for life to continue through child bearing, and when a woman has an abortion she ultimately ends the life of a person. Because the fetus has its own DNA it is biologically its own person.

We are each created to glorify Him in numerous ways. The world may look to science to disprove God and His word, but science daily proves God and His word are absolute truth. Because God is the one who gives life, only He has the right to justly take it. Men and women may commit murder both of persons outside the womb and persons inside the womb, but God will not let the taking of innocent lives unjustly go unpunished.
This may sound harsh, but the truth is never easy to look at. Women around the world may say there are varying reasons for wanting or needing an abortion, such as for medical purposes, rape, and incest. While I see and hear their arguments, I cannot look upon these women with nothing more than sadness and heartbreak. These women need the hope only God can give through the gospel and salvation. They are living in a state of hopelessness, and instead of placing their hope and trust in God, they have decided to allow a worldly system to try and cure all that ails them and meet their needs. As a Christian woman I know my worth and every woman’s worth is found only in Christ and not in the world around me and what it says I should or should not be.

Every argument made for abortion stems from a fallen and broken world that started with the fall of man in the garden. Since Adam willingly sinned in the Garden of Eden and man’s fall, mankind has been born into a state of continuous sin. Due to this, mankind has devised all manner of evil and the various reasons to perpetrate it against one another and the unborn. Both rape and incest is a product of this fallen world, and so this world thinks that because God does not exist that it should be the one to fix all of the problems that arises from a morally depraved society.

Fallen man is desperately in need of the gospel and salvation, and that can only be found in the son of God, our creator, who sent His only son to die on a cross that was meant for another man. This man, Barabbas, who was pardoned and set free, is a picture of all of us who deserve to die for our sins, but because Christ was sent to die in his and our place, when we place our full faith and trust in Him we may be pardoned as well. This is what is meant when Christ became the propitiation for our sins. He died in our place, bearing our sins, and bearing the full weight of God’s wrath that we may be forgiven once we believe in Him and place our faith in Him.

For all who have had an abortion or more than one, God sent His sinless, innocent son to atone for your sin, but to receive salvation and pardon you must repent of your sinful life and believe in the one who died for you, Jesus. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
